Day Centres offer a range of practical, therapeutic and social activities for people over 60. There are some day centres for older people from minority ethnic communities. Specialist day care is also available for people with dementia.
Most centres are open Monday to Friday, although some may open some evenings and at the weekend.
Day Centres are run by Leeds City Council or voluntary organisations and to get a day centre place you usually need to be referred by a CPN, social worker, key worker or by another professional. Transport can be arranged.
Resource Centres are for people with a physical or sensory impairment, they offer daytime activities and support.
