If you are 75 or over you can get a free TV licence, even if you live with someone younger. The person who is 75 or over needs to apply in their name to get the free licence. If you are 74 you can apply for a short term licence to cover you until your 75th birthday.

To apply for a free over 75 licence call TV Licensing on 0870 241 6468. You will need to have your date of birth, National Insurance number and current TV licence number to hand.

If you live in a care home and you want your own TV in your room you may be able to get your TV licence for £7.50 if the home you live in has an ARC (Accommodation for Residential Care) Concessionary Licence.

If you or anyone you live with is blind you can get your licence half price.
