Leeds has lots of resources for researching local and family history. Lots of these are listed in organisations and services below.
Leeds Central Library’s local studies library holds about 180,000 items including books, local newspapers and journals, directories, voters’ lists, parish registers, census returns, births, deaths and marriages, maps, photographs and prints, playbills and microfilms.
There are also lots of resources online, you can link to most of them through the Leeds City Council local history and heritage web pages.
