Carers

Can't find what you're looking for?

From here you can find information about the support, rights, benefits and breaks available for carers and young carers as well as befriending services and carer's assessment.

People vary as to at what point they begin to see themselves as ‘a carer’, but usually this is long after they have begun to need help with their caring. We hope that people will find out about facilities that might help them at an early date, before their own health is affected.

A carer can be described as: someone who looks after a relative, partner or friend who, because of disability, illness or old age, cannot manage without help. This includes parents or others bringing up a child with a disability.

There is more information on Leeds Carers website CaringLeeds

Do you know there is a local Neighbourhood Network organisation in your area? They offer information and advice and a variety of different support, social activities and volunteering opportunities in later life.

If you're looking for a particular service (including personal care, cleaning, gardening, other tradepersons or more general social or community support) you could also try the LeedsDirectory.

Finding information on Infostore

From this page you can find everything on Infostore listed alphabetically in the 'ALL' yellow tab just above this text.

Are you looking for an organisation, leaflets or reports, news or events?

You can use these tabs to narrow down the list according to what you are looking for, just click on the one you are interested in.
If a tab is grey it means there is nothing listed for that type of information.

Choosing one of the topics (befriending, for example) on the left hand side of the page will give you a shorter list of results.

Alternatively, you can use the search box or the A-Z index in the purple bar above.

Just looking for organisations or events in your area?

‘Choose a neighbourhood' - in the purple box on the right hand side of this page - allows you to only see organisations and events in your area. If you want to go back to seeing everything click on ‘show all Leeds’ at the bottom of the same box.

If you get lost

You can get back to the home page by clicking the Infostore logo.
