We recognise the importance of getting important information in your own language.
On Infostore you can see videos about the Infostore, and about some benefits you may be able to claim, in the following community languages:-
Bengali
Chinese
Hindi
Punjabi
British Sign Language (BSL)

You can see details of organisations and services working with older people in Leeds which can work in community languages, including more languages than those listed above.
There are also a number of documents in community languages on the Infostore. You can find these if you type, in English, the name of the language you are looking for, such as 'Polish', in the 'Search the site' box at the top right of the screen.
Many organisations will work with an interpreter. It is always good to ask, and in some cases insist on this. Some organisations, particularly those which are part of the NHS, can use interpreting and translation services.
We have worked with members of the Older People's Black and Minority Ethnic communities Focus Group to decide which languages to film videos in, and on the scripts.
