Given the choice, most people want to live in their own home for as long as possible. If you are finding it difficult to manage at home there is support available. The Community Support Service at Adult Social Care or another independent organisation may be able to support you by helping with your personal care, for example helping you to get up and dressed.
Specialist equipment for your home, pendent alarms, continence services are also available.
To get help with care at home from Adult Social Care you will need to have an assessment. There are also lots of independent organisations you can contact directly, for details of independent home care providers get in touch with CSCI.
Keeping House can also put you in touch with someone to help with things like cleaning or shopping, you usually have to pay for these services.
You may also need to think about alternatives to living at home.
