Care homes
Can't find what you're looking for?
For people who are unable to live at home, even with help. Moving into a care home is a big step and you should be sure it is right for you. Make sure you understand your rights, what you will have to pay and what you are getting.
All care homes have to be registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI), who make inspections. You have the right to see the home’s most recent inspection report.
Think carefully about whether you have enough money to pay for care home fees; now and well into the future. If you want to apply for help towards the cost you will need to be assessed by Adult Social Care. You can get advice from Adult Social Care even if you can find your own place and do not need help with the cost.
Care homes may be run by voluntary groups, private individuals, organisations, trusts, or Leeds City Council. Some offer specialised services, such as nursing care, care for people with dementia, or care for people of particular cultures or religions.
