Description
Alzheimer's Society is the leading support and research charity for people with dementia, their families and carers in the UK. There are 750,000 people with dementia in the UK with numbers set to rise to one million by 2021.
The Society fights for a better world for people with all types of dementia by campaigning and lobbying to influence government policies and raise awareness. It provides practical services, information and support to people with dementia and their carers through a network of local services. And through its research programme the Society works to improve the knowledge and treatment of dementia.
The web-site provides a great deal of information and advice about dementia - its symptoms and diagnosis, how to live with it, how to care for someone with dementia, current research and it can also link you to local branches all over the country.
