Description
AVSED offers social and healthy living activities for people over 60 living in Aireborough, including those with physical disabilities or recovering from depression. Registered clients have access to social centres, day trips for severely disabled clients, 'EXTEND' gentle exercise group, Tai Chi, 'Ditching Depression' group, Friday Film Club, Friday home-delivery fish & chip run, 1:1 escort to opticians, audiology clinic, dentists and special purchases (e.g. underwear), home safety checks with installation of smoke alarms and CO detectors, quarterly newsletter, advice and referral to other agencies, letter writing, form filling, home and hospital visiting, befriending (only available for members who can no longer access our group activities) and a handyman service. Membership via assessment and £10.00 annual subscription.
